We spent this Halloween at my parents in Atlanta. We went to the Trunk or Treat at the FUMC with Holly, Ryon, and Duncan Kelton. It was a lot of fun..Brooks ran everywhere and didn't care one bit about getting candy from the church members. I thought the pictures with Duncan were so sweet. There was a bouncy castle for the little ones and B decided he was going to be brave, marched right up to it and let the man in charge take off his shoes, then when it was time to get in Brooks held his feet up and refused to let the man put him down...wasn't so brave after all!! :)

The weather could have not been any more perfect that day for an outdoor fall wedding. It was a tad bit cool, no wind or humidity and a perfect sunset. Everything fell right into place with no major glitches and a very happy bride. She planned everything to a "T" and was so organized which left little stress for the weekend. The food was fabulous, great deserts, and a good band. She decided to not have a wedding or groom's cake, instead chose creme brulee, tiramisu (sp ?), and a chocolate cake. I also took pictures with her camera, so I don't have pics of everything. If you take a peek at the Trois Estate website, we stayed in the Bella Villa suite and the wedding took place right outside our room in the courtyard.

We are getting settled into our new home in Texas and I have some time to update the blog. My wonderful sister got married the last weekend in October at the Trois Estate outside of Fredericksburg, TX, http://www.troisestate.net/. *She and Dane met ten years ago and Texas Tech University where they were friends first and then began dating. He is such a great guy and we are so happy he's finally a part of the family.* Bryan, Brooks, and I flew from Seattle to San Antonio Wed. October 24th. They welcomed us back to Texas with a fabulous fajita dinner..yum o!!! Ton and I got pedicures and picked up her dress Thursday and then we all headed to the "hill country". Friday we did lots of decorating/wedding prep stuff and went to the rehearsal and dinner. I was the matron of honor..with that comes a speech which I'm really no good at and dread like the plague...I also cannot speak in public about loved ones without becoming a blubbering idiot, so of course my speech was filled with tears. Sometimes I think I should've gone into acting b/c I can turn on the tears. ha ha!! I consider growing up with only a sister one of the greatest blessings of my life. We are so close and have a really special relationship. It was a very proud weekend for me to see her have the wedding of her dreams to the perfect partner.

Since the beginning of September, we have had several difficult weeks dealing with the trials both of Brooks' grandmothers have faced. We serve a very good Lord who is taking care of them both. We just wanted them to know how much they are loved and how thankful we are that everything is going to be ok. Bryan's mom, Karen, received very good news yesterday that the cancer had not spread, which we are SOOO thankful for. My mom, Babs, went home from the hospital today for the third time in one month since her stroke. Hopefully, the doctors have found the right meds for her and she is on the road to recovery!! Keep gaining strength Babsie.

Happy 60th B-day Poppa

My dad, Poppa, turned 60 on September 6th and we wanted to wish him a belated Happy Blog Birthday!! We love you so much Dad...This is a picture of Brooksie bear and his Poppa out to dinner one evening. You'll notice they are up walking around and not quietly seated at the table enjoying dinner. That seems to be the norm now-a-days!! :)

Trip to Cannon Beach, Oregon

Bryan and I took a trip to CB the first of August for my 30th b-day...I haven't posted in a long time. Seems like our lives have been a roller coaster since the first of September and I actually have some time to blog. CB is a cute little beachy town on the coast of Oregon and it is beautiful there. We had such a great time just the two of us. We stayed at the Surf Sand Resort which was really great. Each night the cabanna guys would make a bonfire on the beach for us and we'd roast smores...it was so wonderful. We ate lots of yummy seafood and shopped a little, mostly rested and relaxed on the beach. It was nice to be away from Brooks for a few nights. Mom came up to keep him for us. Haystack Rock is what CB is known and is a sanctuary for rare species of birds. We weren't really interested in the birds, but it was pretty to look at. Great time away for us!! If you have never vacationed in the Pacific Northwest, I would encourage you to do so one day. There is so much to do here.
