Big Announcement

We have decided on a name for our sweet, baby boy...

BENNETT WILLIAM

Bennett means, "little blessed one", and we feel just that about him. A true blessing from above whom we cannot wait to meet, hold, smell, give kisses and the list could go on and on.

William means, "resolute guardian". Both of my grandfathers are named William. I have included a picture of George William, my Papa, and his first great grandson, Brooks. He is very sick right now and most likely will be watching down from heaven when Bennett is born. My heart aches at the thought, because Papa and Brooks have the sweetest relationship and I wish Bennett could have the same. One day they WILL!! My grandaddy, William Alfred, passed away when I was a freshman in high school. I know that he would love my boys to pieces and would be tickled to have one of them named after him.

We chose another "B" name because Bennett needed to have the same initials as his daddy, his brother, and his Pop'O(Bob).

On March 1st at 7:45am, we will become a family of four. I am now in full baby mode. The nursery is set up and in the process of being decorated. I'm having a lady make his bedding, meeting with a painter this week, and Jamie is working on some artwork for his room. I'm panicking a little about not having everything ready before he gets here. Eekkk...

September 10 at 4:50pm my niece, Evelyn(Evie) May made her grand entrance. She weighed 8lbs 14 oz. Congratulations Aunt T & Uncle D...we are so happy for you!!

Fast forward 6 weeks:

Brooks & I just got back from a visit with this precious baby girl. I am in love!! She loves to cuddle and this proud aunt did not want to put her down. Brooks was very interested in E, wanted to hold her, push her in the swing, etc. My sister is such a great mommy and it is so neat to watch her start the journey into motherhood. There is just no better job in the world. I am so happy for her!!

We can't wait to see them again for Thanksgiving.

Our 100th post & we're thinking blue...

Today, I am adding our 100th post and couldn't think of a better topic than our precious second child!! We found out a few weeks ago...IT'S A BOY. Bryan and I had the sonogram tech seal our news in an envelope to keep secret until that night. We planned to go to dinner and open as a family. It was a very long day waiting for B to get home from work, and all I could do not to open it. We headed to Cheesecake Factory, placed our order, and I tore open the envelope. Brooks said all along that the baby was a girl, and had me somewhat convinced. The weekend before our sonogram, Bryan was out of town and I really started feeling boy. Our sweet little one is healthy and quite active. Both the sonogram tech and doctor commented on how much he was moving. It is just such an amazing/emotional feeling to watch your child wiggling around inside of you. Such an abundant blessing from above!!!

5 months

3 months-notice the motion bands I'm sporting..they are my constant companion!! So fashionable...

Now, we are starting to throw around a few names, pick out bedding, think about the nursery, and prepare for his spring arrival!! Hard to believe I'll be toting around two little guys in a few months.

Exciting news...

Brooks is going to be a big brother!! We are thrilled and can't wait for the arrival of this precious little one. I am 10 1/2 weeks and my due date is March 4th. This pregnancy is going really well so far...NO MIGRAINES & nausea. What a blessing it has been because I was sooo sick with Brooks. I have been very tired, and it's taking every bit of energy I do have to make it through the day. Pregnancy with a little one at home is a whole different ball game. Lots of napping while B is asleep..looking forward to the energy the 2nd trimester brings. We had a doctor's apt today and hearing the heartbeat just amazes me. What an awesome God we serve to bless Bryan & I with another baby!! I am just so thankful that He is trusting us with the life of this child. My prayer is for a healthy and safe pregnancy, delivery, and new little one!!

Daffodil fields

ENOUGH of that snake post...moving on to much happier topics. We are still settling in to the new place and scratching things off the to-do list. Summer is finally here and Houston is HOT!! So, this post is taking me back to the glorious days of spring. Before leaving East Texas, I took Brooks to the daffodil fields. It was the last day they were open & most of the flowers had lost blooms, but still a fun adventure. Enjoy...

These past few months have flown by, I truly can't believe summer is here. We were traveling most of the weekends in May, and now getting ready for a trip to the beach. Hilton Head here we come!! I have oodles to post about, my goal is to attempt one a week.

Welcoming committee

Long month of no blogging for the boyer bunch...we've been a movin!! So, now that we are settling in to the new place, becoming comfortable in our new surroundings, a surprise visitor decides to come on over. You can see what happens when this momma feels the hairs on the back of her neck rise and the urgent need to protect her offspring...

"Mr. garter snake or ribbon snake(did a little on-line research), so sorry you chose to slither onto our porch while Brooks and I were trying to play a little golf."

Proof that I killed him. Isn't it necessary to put on JCrew, green with pink flamingo rain boots when one is in snake killing mode???

Let me paint a clear picture of how this went down:

Brooks and I had just gotten home from running errands. We had a few minutes before nap time and he wanted to go into the backyard to hit golf balls. He and Jax went outside, left the porch door open, which we do quite often, took his clubs and golf balls out of the toy chest, and started playing. I was unloading a few things from the car..back door is wide open...snake could have come into our HOME!!! I made my way outside, shut the door, and walked into the yard. Then turn around to sit in one of the chairs on the porch and there he is slithering along where Brooks and I had just walked. He came out from behind the toy chest and scurried under the grill. I scooped Brooks up, headed inside to call Bryan, got his voicemail, and put on my boots. B was in a meeting, so I called my dad. I got the broom out and hit the grill a few times to get the snake to come out. Then started screaming when he decides to come out. Dad gets on the phone and starts rattling off questions, what color is it, how long is it, etc.

*My family has a history of snake encounters that have not turned out to well. Dad was bitten by a copperhead(poisonous/aggressive snake)on the palm of his hand. Bryan's mom was bitten by a rattlesnake on her pinky finger. So, we take this seriously.*

The snake had moved onto the door stoop off of the master bedroom and is watching me. Dad tells me to go get a hoe, remove the snake from the stoop, stand back as far as I can, and hit it hard. Then, he gives me a little pep talk and says to call him after I'm finished. After a quick prayer, I did it!! I killed my first and hopefully only snake...

And I must mention that this entire time Brooks is mad as fire/screaming that I made him stop playing golf, come inside, and wait until I've killed the snake. Multitasking at it's finest...

Everything Pink...

My dear friend Holly is expecting a precious baby girl the end of April. We had a shower for her last weekend and I just had to share. It was so much fun planning and thinking about all things pink!! Lucy Kate(isn't that the cutest name??) received so much fun stuff..mostly clothes. I hate that I didn't snap any pics of the gifts, too busy playing hostess!!

A lady from our hometown has re-done her parents home after they passed away. It was the perfect place for a small shower. Cozy...

Just take a look at that adorable cake...she's a beauty. The same lady that made Brooks' b-day cake did this one. I'm telling you she is talented. The theme was polka dots.

Her baby book is beautiful, it has LK's monogram on the front. If our next child is a girl, I will be purchasing one!!
